Jason Puckett, Owner

Jason is a 3rd generation pest control professional. Jason’s grandfather, Hubert Puckett, started working in the pest control industry for North Alabama Termite Control and later became a manager for Cook’s Pest Control. Myron Puckett, Jason’s uncle, followed in his fathers footsteps by working at Cook’s Pest Control in Sales. Myron with the guidance of his father, started Puckett’s Pest Control. After graduation from high school, Jason joined Puckett’s Pest Control as a Termite Technician. Jason worked the Termite business in the booming Madison, Alabama housing industry by servicing new constructions with Pretreats and existing customers with Termite renewal inspections.

Jason later followed in his fathers footsteps by working in manufacturing in various positions. He discovered his love of leadership and pursued it within the manufacturing realm for 10 years. Through this experience, Jason learned the aspect of lean and business measurement. This experience gave Jason the drive to be back in the pest control business with his uncle and the burning desire to be a small business owner.

In October 2016, Jason purchased Puckett’s Pest Control and changed the name to Defense Pest Solutions.

Melanie Puckett, Administrative Manager

Melanie’s background is in Dental Hygiene. She has worked 10 years in the dental field and has worked in an office scheduling atmosphere during this time. Melanie graduated from Wallace State Community College in 2005 with an A.S. in Dental Hygiene. She worked as a Dental Assistant while pursuing certification.

Melanie delivers organization and structure to the office environment which is required in the pest control industry due to the by-laws of the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries. The same concepts of record keeping in the dental office help this structure come natural to her as she manages the records of Defense Pest Solutions.

Jason and Melanie have been married for 2 years and enjoy life together at work and away. Jason has two daughters, Addely and Allie, and they together have a son, Colton. They enjoy hunting, camping and outdoor activities as well as worshiping together at their local church.
